Master Inline Hockey World Association

Today, on International Women’s Day, MIHWA are proud to announce our inclusion of the 4th category in our growing lineup of Masters World Cup competitions. Discussions and interest around this category have long been in the works, and now we finally have the resources to achieve this dream. MIHWA president, David Ninzatti, says “I am so happy, it’s a dream, to have so many teams and so many players after our humble beginning. It is a great emotion I feel to include a new category for women in our inline hockey family. I am so proud!” The Women’s category will be joining the three men’s categories in Masters, Veterans and Legends, each of which are set to involve the greatest number of teams in the largest MIHWA competition ever. MIHWA director Michael Enright commented: “We are preparing to host over 140 games this year, with more teams in each category than ever before, Wow!” This year, the games will be hosted in the perfect venue to honour this evolution and growth, the Olympic Ice stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. A classic and Iconic arena, with two adjacent rinks and all the infrastructure needed to host upwards of 40 teams from all over the globe, just what the Arena was purpose built for. MIHWA Director for Sport Christian Mader noted:”Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a sport town, It’s a hockey town, and they are excited to host this world class competition”. MIHWA can not wait to arrive in this beautiful Bavarian resort, and enjoy everything they have to offer, while we serve up the very best of Masters Inline Hockey to our growing audience in every corner of the world. MIHWA Vice President Peter Wirt is anticipating something special this year, stating: “This year is set to be a record breaker, for many reasons! More teams, more participants, and representing a fuller spectrum of Inline Hockey talent, what a feast of sport. I can’t wait for my usual best seat in the house, which is my great privilege to enjoy every year. I hope to welcome you all there, online and live in the arena”. All of us in MIHWA hope to see you there, and celebrate with us our special event.
