Master Inline Hockey World Association

Anyone who has participated in MIHWA World Cup competitions, or watched as a fan in the arenas, or ever seen any of her prolific social media works of art, will know Fabiola already. She has worked tirelessly with us as a volunteer, and supported our movement for little else in return other than our sincere gratitude, and her own passion for the sport. Her position on the Committee is long overdue, and evidence of our commitment to the future of this movement. Here’s Fabi in her own words:

“I’m a fitness coach and a hockey player, I’ve been playing hockey since I was five years old, but my passion for this sport was born even before me. Hockey runs in my blood—my parents loved it before I did, they played it, coached it, and, in their own way, contributed to its growth. Yet, even today, too many girls and women are forced to step away from this sport at different stages of their lives—not because they lack talent or passion, but because they lack opportunities.

In recent years, women’s hockey has grown tremendously, but I dream of more. I dream of creating a space for all the women who still want to compete, who invest time and energy into this sport, who dream of wearing their national team’s jersey, and who refuse to give up. Not just for them, but for all the generations to come.

The MIHWA movement has already proven that age is not a limit—it’s a new opportunity. An opportunity to reshape this sport, to create more space across all categories, to allow more athletes to pursue their dreams, and to ensure that no one is forced to walk away just because society imposes an invisible expiration date on women in sports.

I want to prove that being a woman, a mother, an entrepreneur, a partner, or a wife does not mean having to give up on your goals. I want to build an opportunity not just for myself, not just for my generation, but for those who came before me and for all those who will follow. Because every athlete deserves the chance to keep chasing their dream”.
