Greetings everyone in Masters Inline Hockey! My name is Shaun, Age 44 from Upstate NY. In 2023 I will be playing in my fifth Masters Inline Hockey World Cup with Team USA, and this is the 7th international tournament of my inline hockey career. My wife, Mallory, will also join me for moral support and daily sanity checks! Back in the states, I play with the Mission Labeda Snipers and want to say hi to my family and friends. This year’s event is particularly special to me as my brother Dan joins Team USA for his international debut. I want to thank Rob Chornomud of Labeda and Nick Hamilton of CarShield for their support for our team. I would also like to thank the State Wars Hockey and NARCh organizations for continuing to put on top-notch tournaments in the states which allow us players to compete year after year. I have been playing competitive hockey for 30 years, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to still play at a high-level against amazing competition from around the world. This year, I am excited to join the MIHWA organizing committee. The committee puts on a world-class event every year, while constantly striving to make the experience better for all players. Each year that I have played at MIHWA, the tournament pool has expanded, new countries have joined and the competition has gotten more intense. It is a source of great pride to take part in this event as both a player and coordinator.
